Unloaded quality factor optimization of substrate integrated waveguide resonator using genetic algorithm

<p>The main objective purpose of this paper is to study the enhancement techniques unloaded quality factor substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) resonator, given that filters depends first on resonators compose it. Performance achieved by employing a MATLAB-based genetic algorithm optimize geometrical parameters SIW resonator iterative convergence target frequency (10 GHz frequency). On other hand, Ansys HFSS tool used model and with suitable transition plot S-parameters for sweep range validate its property. The results obtained allow increasing Q-factor be more than 1609 reducing not only insertion return losses but also size resonator. proposed small low loss directly useful microwave millimeter-wave applications.</p>
